This site is for information, support and questions for any parent of a child missing digits.
Welcome to the wonderful world of being a parent to a child born not whole, but still so very perfect. The life of a child born or with an aquired limb difference is a path that is full of ups and downs.
I am a very fortunate Mom to a son born in 2003 with bilateral symbractydactyly (his right thumb is his only complete digit). He also has clinodactyly of both pinkies. He was diagnosed while I was still pregnant, but that didn't make the journey any more easy.
It has been a mission of mine to be able to reach out to other parents who have been diagnosed during pregnancy or after birth with a child affected by Symbrachydactyly

The X Finger
I came across the X Finger online. Emails began flowing between the inventor, Dan Didrick and myself when I inquired about a pediatric version. Unfortunatly at this point it is not available for kids, however Dan has made it his goal to see that this changes & has been an important piece of Mikey's life-from his inspirational words & his new-found friendship with my little man. Thank you Dan, there are not words to describe what you've already done for Mikey.
The profile picture currently being used is a post op picture of Mikey in 2006 when he had to have his nubbin removal surgery-the hardest decision in my life...But look at him--he's a CHAMP isn't he?!!
I am a very proud mom to two very beautiful boys. Liam was born in 2000 and Mikey in 2003. Mikey is my hand baby. His strength and determination is so envious and I find myself in awe of him everyday.
